I have been serious in doing my best to build my relationship with the Lord. Apart from the 1 year Bible plan, I have also been reading morning revival. Most of the time, I read through it and try to summarise what I read. Sometimes, I understood what I read. I wish that after I finish the Bible, I can piece it all together and get to be a better follower of the Lord. I’m continuously praying for it!

| Psalms 44 is about Former Deliverances and Present Troubles | For the choir director. A Maskil of the sons of Korah
“O God, we have heard with our ears, Our fathers have told us The work that You did in their days, In the days of old. You are my King, O God; Command victories for Jacob. Our heart has not turned back, And our steps have not deviated from Your way, Yet You have crushed us in a place of jackals And covered us with the shadow of death. If we had forgotten the name of our God Or extended our hands to a strange god, Would not God find this out? For He knows the secrets of the heart. Arouse Yourself, why do You sleep, O Lord? Awake, do not reject us forever. Rise up, be our help, And redeem us for the sake of Your lovingkindness.” |
| Psalms 45 is about A Song Celebrating the King’s Marriage | For the choir director; according to the Shoshannim. A Maskil of the sons of Korah. A Song of Love.

You are fairer than the sons of men; Grace is poured upon Your lips; Therefore God has blessed You forever. Kings’ daughters are among Your noble ladies; At Your right hand stands the queen in gold from Ophir. Then the King will desire your beauty. Because He is your Lord, bow down to Him. In place of your fathers will be your sons; You shall make them princes in all the earth. I will cause Your name to be remembered in all generations; Therefore the peoples will give You thanks forever and ever.” |
| Psalms 49 is about The Folly of Trusting in Riches | For the choir director. A Psalm of the sons of Korah
“Hear this, all peoples; Give ear, all inhabitants of the world, No man can by any means redeem his brother Or give to God a ransom for him- For the redemption of his soul is costly, And he should cease trying forever- Do not be afraid when a man becomes rich, When the glory of his house is increased; For when he dies he will carry nothing away; His glory will not descend after him. Though while he lives he congratulates himself- And though men praise you when you do well for yourself- He shall go to the generation of his fathers; They will never see the light.” |
| Psalms 84 is about Longing for the Temple Worship | For the choir director, on the Gittith. A Psalm of the sons of Korah
“How lovely are Your dwelling places, O LORD of hosts! How blessed is the man whose strength is in You, In whose heart are the highways to Zion! Behold our shield, O God, And look upon the face of Your anointed. For a day in Your courts is better than a thousand outside. I would rather stand at the threshold of the house of my God Than dwell in the tents of wickedness. For the LORD God is a sun and shield; The LORD gives grace and glory; No good thing does He withhold from those who walk uprightly.” |
| Psalms 85 is about Prayer for God’s Mercy upon the Nation | For the choir director. A Psalm of the sons of Korah

Show us Your lovingkindness, O LORD, And grant us Your salvation. I will hear what God the LORD will say; For He will speak peace to His people, to His godly ones; But let them not turn back to folly. Indeed, the LORD will give what is good, And our land will yield its produce. Righteousness will go before Him And will make His footsteps into a way.” |
| Psalms 87 is about The Privileges of Citizenship in Zion | A Psalm of the sons of Korah. A Song.
“The LORD loves the gates of Zion More than all the other dwelling places of Jacob. But of Zion it shall be said, “This one and that one were born in her”; And the Most High Himself will establish her. The LORD will count when He registers the peoples, “This one was born there.” Selah. Then those who sing as well as those who play the flutes shall say, “All my springs of joy are in you.” |

Six were born to him in Hebron, and there he reigned seven years and six months. And in Jerusalem he reigned thirty-three years. These were born to him in Jerusalem: Shimea, Shobab, Nathan and Solomon, four, by Bath-shua the daughter of Ammiel; and Ibhar, Elishama, Eliphelet, Nogah, Nepheg and Japhia, Elishama, Eliada and Eliphelet, nine. the sons of Reuben the firstborn of Israel were Hanoch and Pallu, Hezron and Carmi.” |
| Psalms 73 is about Book 3: The End of the Wicked Contrasted with The of the Righteous | A Psalm of Asaph
“Surely God is good to Israel, To those who are pure in heart! Behold, these are the wicked; And always at ease, they have increased in wealth. Surely in vain I have kept my heart pure And washed my hands in innocence; If I had said, “I will speak thus,” Behold, I would have betrayed the generation of Your children. When I pondered to understand this, It was troublesome in my sight Until I came into the sanctuary of God; Then I perceived their end. Nevertheless I am continually with You; You have taken hold of my right hand. With Your counsel You will guide me, And afterward receive me to glory. My flesh and my heart may fail, But God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever. For, behold, those who are far from You will perish; You have destroyed all those who are unfaithful to You. But as for me, the nearness of God is my good; I have made the Lord GOD my refuge, That I may tell of all Your works.” |
| Psalms 77 is about Comfort in Trouble from Recalling God’s Mighty Deeds | From the choir director; according to Jeduthun. A Psalm of Asaph.
“My voice rises to God, and I will cry aloud; My voice rises to God, and He will hear me. In the day of my trouble I sought the Lord; In the night my hand was stretched out without weariness; My soul refused to be comforted. I shall remember the deeds of the LORD; Surely I will remember Your wonders of old. You led Your people like a flock By the hand of Moses and Aaron.” |
| Psalms 78 is about God’s Guidance of His People in Spite of Their Unfaithfulness | A Maskil of Asaph
“Listen, O my people, to my instruction; Incline your ears to the words of my mouth. We will not conceal them from their children, But tell to the generation to come the praises of the LORD, And His strength and His wondrous works that He has done. That they should put their confidence in God And not forget the works of God, But keep His commandments, And not be like their fathers, A stubborn and rebellious generation, A generation that did not prepare its heart And whose spirit was not faithful to God. Therefore the LORD heard and was full of wrath; And a fire was kindled against Jacob And anger also mounted against Israel, Because they did not believe in God And did not trust in His salvation. Yet He commanded the clouds above And opened the doors of heaven; He rained down manna upon them to eat And gave them food from heaven. In spite of all this they still sinned And did not believe in His wonderful works. So He brought their days to an end in futility And their years in sudden terror. When He killed them, then they sought Him, And returned and searched diligently for God; And they remembered that God was their rock, And the Most High God their Redeemer. But they deceived Him with their mouth And lied to Him with their tongue. But He, being compassionate, forgave their iniquity and did not destroy them; And often He restrained His anger And did not arouse all His wrath.” |
| 1 Chronicles 6 is about Genealogy: The Priestly Line | “The sons of Levi were Gershon, Kohath and Merari.
Now these are those whom David appointed over the service of song in the house of the LORD, after the ark rested there. They ministered with song before the tabernacle of the tent of meeting, until Solomon had built the house of the LORD in Jerusalem; and they served in their office according to their order. But Aaron and his sons offered on the altar of burnt offering and on the altar of incense, for all the work of the most holy place, and to make atonement for Israel, according to all that Moses the servant of God had commanded. Now these are their settlements according to their camps within their borders. To the sons of Aaron of the families of the Kohathites (for theirs was the first lot), Then to the rest of the sons of Kohath were given by lot, from the family of the tribe, from the half-tribe, the half of Manasseh, ten cities. Now some of the families of the sons of Kohath had cities of their territory from the tribe of Ephraim. To the sons of Gershom were given, from the family of the half-tribe of Manasseh: Golan in Bashan with its pasture lands and Ashtaroth with its pasture lands; To the rest of the Levites, the sons of Merari, were given, from the tribe of Zebulun: Rimmono with its pasture lands, Tabor with its pasture lands;” |
| Psalms 81 is about God’s Goodness and Israel’s Waywardness | For the choir director; on the Gittith. A Psalm of Asaph.
“Sing for joy to God our strength; Shout joyfully to the God of Jacob. For it is a statute for Israel, An ordinance of the God of Jacob. He established it for a testimony in Joseph When he went throughout the land of Egypt. I heard a language that I did not know: “Let there be no strange god among you; Nor shall you worship any foreign god. “I, the LORD, am your God, Who brought you up from the land of Egypt; Open your mouth wide and I will fill it. “But My people did not listen to My voice, And Israel did not obey Me. “So I gave them over to the stubbornness of their heart, To walk in their own devices. “Those who hate the LORD would pretend obedience to Him, And their time of punishment would be forever. “But I would feed you with the finest of the wheat, And with honey from the rock I would satisfy you.”” |
| Psalms 88 is about A Petition to Be Saved from Death | A Song. A Psalm of the sons of Korah. For the choir director; according to Mahalath Leannoth. A Maskil of Heman the Ezrahite.
“O LORD, the God of my salvation, I have cried out by day and in the night before You. Let my prayer come before You; Incline Your ear to my cry! Your burning anger has passed over me; Your terrors have destroyed me. They have surrounded me like water all day long; They have encompassed me altogether. You have removed lover and friend far from me; My acquaintances are in darkness.” |
| Psalms 92 is about Praise for the Lord’s Goodness | A Psalm, a Song for the Sabbath Day
“It is good to give thanks to the LORD And to sing praises to Your name, O Most High; To declare Your lovingkindness in the morning And Your faithfulness by night, For You, O LORD, have made me glad by what You have done, I will sing for joy at the works of Your hands. The righteous man will flourish like the palm tree, He will grow like a cedar in Lebanon. They will still yield fruit in old age; They shall be full of sap and very green, To declare that the LORD is upright; He is my rock, and there is no unrighteousness in Him.” |
| Psalms 93 is about The Majesty of the Lord | “The LORD reigns, He is clothed with majesty; The LORD has clothed and girded Himself with strength; Indeed, the world is firmly established, it will not be moved.
Your testimonies are fully confirmed; Holiness befits Your house, O LORD, forevermore.” |
| 1 Chronicles 7 is about Genealogy from Issachar, Descendants of Benjamin, Sons of Naphtali, Descendants of Manasseh, Descendants of Ephraim and Descendants of Asher | “Now the sons of Issachar were four: Tola, Puah, Jashub and Shimron.
Their relatives among all the families of Issachar were mighty men of valor, enrolled by genealogy, in all 87,000. The sons of Benjamin were three: Bela and Becher and Jediael. The sons of Naphtali were Jahziel, Guni, Jezer, and Shallum, the sons of Bilhah. The sons of Manasseh were Asriel, whom his Aramean concubine bore; she bore Machir the father of Gilead. The sons of Ephraim were Shuthelah and Bered his son, Tahath his son, Eleadah his son, Tahath his son, Zabad his son, Shuthelah his son, and Ezer and Elead whom the men of Gath who were born in the land killed, because they came down to take their livestock. The sons of Asher were Imnah, Ishvah, Ishvi and Beriah, and Serah their sister. All these were the sons of Asher, heads of the fathers’ houses, choice and mighty men of valor, heads of the princes. And the number of them enrolled by genealogy for service in war was 26,000 men.” |
| 1 Chronicles 8 is about Genealogy from Benjamin and Genealogy from King Saul | “And Benjamin became the father of Bela his firstborn, Ashbel the second, Aharah the third,
Ner became the father of Kish, and Kish became the father of Saul, and Saul became the father of Jonathan, Malchi-shua, Abinadab and Eshbaal.” |
| 1 Chronicles 9 is about People of Jerusalem and Ancestry and Descendants of Saul | “So all Israel was enrolled by genealogies; and behold, they are written in the Book of the Kings of Israel. And Judah was carried away into exile to Babylon for their unfaithfulness. Now the first who lived in their possessions in their cities were Israel, the priests, the Levites and the temple servants.
The gatekeepers were on the four sides, to the east, west, north and south. Their relatives in their villages were to come in every seven days from time to time to be with them; for the four chief gatekeepers who were Levites, were in an office of trust, and were over the chambers and over the treasuries in the house of God. They spent the night around the house of God, because the watch was committed to them; and they were in charge of opening it morning by morning. Now these are the singers, heads of fathers’ households of the Levites, who lived in the chambers of the temple free from other service; for they were engaged in their work day and night. These were heads of fathers’ households of the Levites according to their generations, chief men, who lived in Jerusalem. In Gibeon Jeiel the father of Gibeon lived, and his wife’s name was Maacah, and his firstborn son was Abdon, then Zur, Kish, Baal, Ner, Nadab, Gedor, Ahio, Zechariah and Mikloth. Ner became the father of Kish, and Kish became the father of Saul, and Saul became the father of Jonathan, Malchi-shua, Abinadab and Eshbaal.” |
| 1 Chronicles 10 is about Defeat and Death of Saul and His Sons and Jabesh-gilead’s Tribute to Saul | “Now the Philistines fought against Israel; and the men of Israel fled before the Philistines and fell slain on Mount Gilboa. The Philistines closely pursued Saul and his sons, and the Philistines struck down Jonathan, Abinadab and Malchi-shua, the sons of Saul. The battle became heavy against Saul, and the archers overtook him; and he was wounded by the archers. Then Saul said to his armor bearer, “Draw your sword and thrust me through with it, otherwise these uncircumcised will come and abuse me.” But his armor bearer would not, for he was greatly afraid. Therefore Saul took his sword and fell on it.
So Saul died for his trespass which he committed against the LORD, because of the word of the LORD which he did not keep; and also because he asked counsel of a medium, making inquiry of it, and did not inquire of the LORD. Therefore He killed him and turned the kingdom to David the son of Jesse.” |
