I’m struggling but I’ll carry on. I hope this is only a phase. I’m wishing that seeking the Lord this year won’t make me walk away from being a Christian for good. In my mind, I would wish that knowing Him and seeking Him will make my faith in Him stronger as ever. I’m praying that I won’t walk away from my faith. I only have half-a-year left with this journey to knowing God more.

| 2 Samuel 22 is about David’s Psalm of Deliverance | “And David spoke the words of this song to the LORD in the day that the LORD delivered him from the hand of all his enemies and from the hand of Saul.
My God, my rock, in whom I take refuge, My shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold and my refuge; My savior, You save me from violence. “I call upon the LORD, who is worthy to be praised, And I am saved from my enemies. “In my distress I called upon the LORD, Yes, I cried to my God; And from His temple He heard my voice, And my cry for help came into His ears. “He delivered me from my strong enemy, From those who hated me, for they were too strong for me. “They confronted me in the day of my calamity, But the LORD was my support. “Therefore the LORD has recompensed me according to my righteousness, According to my cleanness before His eyes. “For You are my lamp, O LORD; And the LORD illumines my darkness. “As for God, His way is blameless; The word of the LORD is tested; He is a shield to all who take refuge in Him. “I pursued my enemies and destroyed them, And I did not turn back until they were consumed. “For You have girded me with strength for battle; You have subdued under me those who rose up against me. “You have also made my enemies turn their backs to me, And I destroyed those who hated me. “They looked, but there was none to save; Even to the LORD, but He did not answer them. “The LORD lives, and blessed be my rock; And exalted be God, the rock of my salvation, “Therefore I will give thanks to You, O LORD, among the nations, And I will sing praises to Your name.” |
| 2 Samuel 23 is about David’s Last Song & His Mighty Men | “Now these are the last words of David. David the son of Jesse declares, The man who was raised on high declares, The anointed of the God of Jacob, And the sweet psalmist of Israel,
“The God of Israel said, The Rock of Israel spoke to me, ‘He who rules over men righteously, Who rules in the fear of God, “But the worthless, every one of them will be thrust away like thorns, Because they cannot be taken in hand; But the man who touches them Must be armed with iron and the shaft of a spear, And they will be completely burned with fire in their place.” These are the names of the mighty men whom David had: Josheb-basshebeth a Tahchemonite, chief of the captains, he was called Adino the Eznite, because of eight hundred slain by him at one time; and after him was Eleazar the son of Dodo the Ahohite, one of the three mighty men with David when they defied the Philistines who were gathered there to battle and the men of Israel had withdrawn. Now after him was Shammah the son of Agee a Hararite. And the Philistines were gathered into a troop where there was a plot of ground full of lentils, and the people fled from the Philistines. Abishai, the brother of Joab, the son of Zeruiah, was chief of the thirty. And he swung his spear against three hundred and killed them, and had a name as well as the three. Then Benaiah the son of Jehoiada, the son of a valiant man of Kabzeel, who had done mighty deeds, killed the two sons of Ariel of Moab. He also went down and killed a lion in the middle of a pit on a snowy day.” |

“Be gracious to me, O God, be gracious to me, For my soul takes refuge in You; And in the shadow of Your wings I will take refuge Until destruction passes by. He will send from heaven and save me; He reproaches him who tramples upon me. Selah. God will send forth His lovingkindness and His truth. I will give thanks to You, O Lord, among the peoples; I will sing praises to You among the nations. Be exalted above the heavens, O God; Let Your glory be above all the earth.” |
| Psalms 95 is about Praise to the Lord and Warning against Unbelief | “Let us come before His presence with thanksgiving, Let us shout joyfully to Him with psalms. For the LORD is a great God And a great King above all gods,
Come, let us worship and bow down, Let us kneel before the LORD our Maker. For He is our God, And we are the people of His pasture and the sheep of His hand. Today, if you would hear His voice,” |
| Psalms 97 is about The Lord’s Power and Dominion | “The LORD reigns, let the earth rejoice; Let the many islands be glad.
Fire goes before Him And burns up His adversaries round about. The heavens declare His righteousness, And all the peoples have seen His glory. For You are the LORD Most High over all the earth; You are exalted far above all gods. Be glad in the LORD, you righteous ones, And give thanks to His holy name.” |
| Psalms 98 is about A Call to Praise the Lord for His Righteousness | A Psalm
“O sing to the LORD a new song, For He has done wonderful things, His right hand and His holy arm have gained the victory for Him. He has remembered His lovingkindness and His faithfulness to the house of Israel; All the ends of the earth have seen the salvation of our God. Before the LORD, for He is coming to judge the earth; He will judge the world with righteousness And the peoples with equity.” |
| Psalms 99 is about Praise to the Lord for His Fidelity to Israel | “The LORD reigns, let the peoples tremble; He is enthroned above the cherubim, let the earth shake!

Moses and Aaron were among His priests, And Samuel was among those who called on His name; They called upon the LORD and He answered them. Exalt the LORD our God And worship at His holy hill, For holy is the LORD our God.” |
| 2 Samuel 24 is about The Census Taken, Pestilence Sent & David Builds an Altar | “Now again the anger of the LORD burned against Israel, and it incited David against them to say, “Go, number Israel and Judah.”
So when they had gone about through the whole land, they came to Jerusalem at the end of nine months and twenty days. And Joab gave the number of the registration of the people to the king; and there were in Israel eight hundred thousand valiant men who drew the sword, and the men of Judah were five hundred thousand men. Now David’s heart troubled him after he had numbered the people. So David said to the LORD, “I have sinned greatly in what I have done. But now, O LORD, please take away the iniquity of Your servant, for I have acted very foolishly.” “Go and speak to David, ‘Thus the LORD says, “I am offering you three things; choose for yourself one of them, which I will do to you.”‘” Then David said to Gad, “I am in great distress. Let us now fall into the hand of the LORD for His mercies are great, but do not let me fall into the hand of man.” So the LORD sent a pestilence upon Israel from the morning until the appointed time, and seventy thousand men of the people from Dan to Beersheba died. Then David spoke to the LORD when he saw the angel who was striking down the people, and said, “Behold, it is I who have sinned, and it is I who have done wrong; but these sheep, what have they done? Please let Your hand be against me and against my father’s house.” So Gad came to David that day and said to him, “Go up, erect an altar to the LORD on the threshing floor of Araunah the Jebusite.” David built there an altar to the LORD and offered burnt offerings and peace offerings. Thus the LORD was moved by prayer for the land, and the plague was held back from Israel.” |
| 1 Chronicles 21 is about Census Brings Pestilence & David’s Altar | “Then Satan stood up against Israel and moved David to number Israel.
Joab gave the number of the census of all the people to David. And all Israel were 1,100,000 men who drew the sword; and Judah was 470,000 men who drew the sword. But he did not number Levi and Benjamin among them, for the king’s command was abhorrent to Joab. God was displeased with this thing, so He struck Israel. David said to God, “I have sinned greatly, in that I have done this thing. But now, please take away the iniquity of Your servant, for I have done very foolishly.” “Go and speak to David, saying, ‘Thus says the LORD, “I offer you three things; choose for yourself one of them, which I will do to you.”‘” David said to Gad, “I am in great distress; please let me fall into the hand of the LORD, for His mercies are very great. But do not let me fall into the hand of man.” So the LORD sent a pestilence on Israel; 70,000 men of Israel fell. David said to God, “Is it not I who commanded to count the people? Indeed, I am the one who has sinned and done very wickedly, but these sheep, what have they done? O LORD my God, please let Your hand be against me and my father’s household, but not against Your people that they should be plagued.” Then the angel of the LORD commanded Gad to say to David, that David should go up and build an altar to the LORD on the threshing floor of Ornan the Jebusite. Then David said to Ornan, “Give me the site of this threshing floor, that I may build on it an altar to the LORD; for the full price you shall give it to me, that the plague may be restrained from the people.” Ornan said to David, “Take it for yourself; and let my lord the king do what is good in his sight. See, I will give the oxen for burnt offerings and the threshing sledges for wood and the wheat for the grain offering; I will give it all.” But King David said to Ornan, “No, but I will surely buy it for the full price; for I will not take what is yours for the LORD, or offer a burnt offering which costs me nothing.” At that time, when David saw that the LORD had answered him on the threshing floor of Ornan the Jebusite, he offered sacrifice there.” |
| 1 Chronicles 22 is David Prepares for Temple Building & Solomon Charged with the Task | “David said, “My son Solomon is young and inexperienced, and the house that is to be built for the LORD shall be exceedingly magnificent, famous and glorious throughout all lands. Therefore now I will make preparation for it.” So David made ample preparations before his death.
David said to Solomon, “My son, I had intended to build a house to the name of the LORD my God. But the word of the LORD came to me, saying, ‘You have shed much blood and have waged great wars; you shall not build a house to My name, because you have shed so much blood on the earth before Me. Behold, a son will be born to you, who shall be a man of rest; and I will give him rest from all his enemies on every side; for his name shall be Solomon, and I will give peace and quiet to Israel in his days. He shall build a house for My name, and he shall be My son and I will be his father; and I will establish the throne of his kingdom over Israel forever.’ David also commanded all the leaders of Israel to help his son Solomon, saying, Now set your heart and your soul to seek the LORD your God; arise, therefore, and build the sanctuary of the LORD God, so that you may bring the ark of the covenant of the LORD and the holy vessels of God into the house that is to be built for the name of the LORD.”” |
| Psalms 30 is about Thanksgiving for Deliverance from Death | A Psalm; a Song at the Dedication of the House. A Psalm of David
“O LORD my God, I cried to You for help, and You healed me. O LORD, You have brought up my soul from Sheol; You have kept me alive, that I would not go down to the pit. Sing praise to the LORD, you His godly ones, And give thanks to His holy name. “Hear, O LORD, and be gracious to me; O LORD, be my helper.” That my soul may sing praise to You and not be silent. O LORD my God, I will give thanks to You forever.” |
| Psalms 108 is about God Praised and Supplicated to Give Victory | A Song, a Psalm of David

Be exalted, O God, above the heavens, And Your glory above all the earth. Oh give us help against the adversary, For deliverance by man is in vain. Through God we will do valiantly, And it is He who shall tread down our adversaries.” |
| Psalms 109 is about Vengeance Invoked upon Adversaries | For the choir director. A Psalm of David
“O God of my praise, Do not be silent! For they have opened the wicked and deceitful mouth against me; They have spoken against me with a lying tongue. In return for my love they act as my accusers; But I am in prayer. When he is judged, let him come forth guilty, And let his prayer become sin. Let them be before the LORD continually, That He may cut off their memory from the earth; Because he did not remember to show lovingkindness, But persecuted the afflicted and needy man, And the despondent in heart, to put them to death. He also loved cursing, so it came to him; And he did not delight in blessing, so it was far from him. But You, O GOD, the Lord, deal kindly with me for Your name’s sake; Because Your lovingkindness is good, deliver me; Help me, O LORD my God; Save me according to Your lovingkindness. And let them know that this is Your hand; You, LORD, have done it. With my mouth I will give thanks abundantly to the LORD; And in the midst of many I will praise Him. For He stands at the right hand of the needy, To save him from those who judge his soul.” |
| Psalms 110 is about The Lord Gives Dominion to the King | A Psalm of David
“The LORD says to my Lord: “Sit at My right hand Until I make Your enemies a footstool for Your feet.” The LORD will stretch forth Your strong scepter from Zion, saying, “Rule in the midst of Your enemies.” The Lord is at Your right hand; He will shatter kings in the day of His wrath. He will drink from the brook by the wayside; Therefore He will lift up His head.” |

The Levites were numbered from thirty years old and upward, and their number by census of men was 38,000. David divided them into divisions according to the sons of Levi: Gershon, Kohath, and Merari. Of the Gershonites were Ladan and Shimei. The sons of Kohath were four: Amram, Izhar, Hebron and Uzziel. The sons of Merari were Mahli and Mushi. The sons of Mahli were Eleazar and Kish. These were the sons of Levi according to their fathers’ households, even the heads of the fathers’ households of those of them who were counted, in the number of names by their census, doing the work for the service of the house of the LORD, from twenty years old and upward. For David said, “The LORD God of Israel has given rest to His people, and He dwells in Jerusalem forever. Also, the Levites will no longer need to carry the tabernacle and all its utensils for its service.” They are to stand every morning to thank and to praise the LORD, and likewise at evening, Thus they are to keep charge of the tent of meeting, and charge of the holy place, and charge of the sons of Aaron their relatives, for the service of the house of the LORD.” |
| 1 Chronicles 24 is about Divisions of Levites | “Now the divisions of the descendants of Aaron were these: the sons of Aaron were Nadab, Abihu, Eleazar and Ithamar. Their number who were trained in singing to the LORD, with their relatives, all who were skillful, was 288. They cast lots for their duties, all alike, the small as well as the great, the teacher as well as the pupil.” |
| Psalms 131 is about Childlike Trust in the Lord | A Song of Ascents, of David
“O LORD, my heart is not proud, nor my eyes haughty; Nor do I involve myself in great matters, Or in things too difficult for me. Surely I have composed and quieted my soul; Like a weaned child rests against his mother, My soul is like a weaned child within me.” |
| Psalms 138 is about Thanksgiving for the Lord’s Favour | A Psalm of David

Even before there is a word on my tongue, Behold, O LORD, You know it all. I will give thanks to You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Wonderful are Your works, And my soul knows it very well. Search me, O God, and know my heart; Try me and know my anxious thoughts; And see if there be any hurtful way in me, And lead me in the everlasting way.” |
| Psalms 143 is about Prayer for Deliverance and Guidance | A Psalm of David

And do not enter into judgment with Your servant, For in Your sight no man living is righteous. I stretch out my hands to You; My soul longs for You, as a parched land. Selah. Answer me quickly, O LORD, my spirit fails; Do not hide Your face from me, Or I will become like those who go down to the pit. Deliver me, O LORD, from my enemies; I take refuge in You. Teach me to do Your will, For You are my God; Let Your good Spirit lead me on level ground. For the sake of Your name, O LORD, revive me. In Your righteousness bring my soul out of trouble.” |
| Psalms 144 is about Prayer for Rescue and Prosperity | A Psalm of David
“Blessed be the LORD, my rock, Who trains my hands for war, And my fingers for battle; My lovingkindness and my fortress, My stronghold and my deliverer, My shield and He in whom I take refuge, Who subdues my people under me. They shall speak of the glory of Your kingdom And talk of Your power; To make known to the sons of men Your mighty acts And the glory of the majesty of Your kingdom. The LORD is righteous in all His ways And kind in all His deeds. The LORD is near to all who call upon Him, To all who call upon Him in truth. To these divisions of the gatekeepers, the chief men, were given duties like their relatives to minister in the house of the LORD. They cast lots, the small and the great alike, according to their fathers’ households, for every gate. The Levites, their relatives, had charge of the treasures of the house of God and of the treasures of the dedicated gifts. As for the Izharites, Chenaniah and his sons were assigned to outside duties for Israel, as officers and judges.” |
| 1 Chronicles 27 is about Commanders of the Army, Chief Officers of the Tribes, Various Overseers & Counselors | “Now this is the enumeration of the sons of Israel, the heads of fathers’ households, the commanders of thousands and of hundreds, and their officers who served the king in all the affairs of the divisions which came in and went out month by month throughout all the months of the year, each division numbering 24,000:
Now in charge of the tribes of Israel: chief officer for the Reubenites was Eliezer the son of Zichri; for the Simeonites, Shephatiah the son of Maacah; for Dan, Azarel the son of Jeroham. These were the princes of the tribes of Israel. But David did not count those twenty years of age and under, because the LORD had said He would multiply Israel as the stars of heaven. Joab the son of Zeruiah had begun to count them, but did not finish; and because of this, wrath came upon Israel, and the number was not included in the account of the chronicles of King David. Now Azmaveth the son of Adiel had charge of the king’s storehouses. And Jonathan the son of Uzziah had charge of the storehouses in the country, in the cities, in the villages and in the towers. Also Jonathan, David’s uncle, was a counselor, a man of understanding, and a scribe; and Jehiel the son of Hachmoni tutored the king’s sons. Ahithophel was counselor to the king; and Hushai the Archite was the king’s friend. Jehoiada the son of Benaiah, and Abiathar succeeded Ahithophel; and Joab was the commander of the king’s army.” |

Then King David rose to his feet and said, “Listen to me, my brethren and my people; I had intended to build a permanent home for the ark of the covenant of the LORD and for the footstool of our God. So I had made preparations to build it. But God said to me, ‘You shall not build a house for My name because you are a man of war and have shed blood.’
He said to me, ‘Your son Solomon is the one who shall build My house and My courts; for I have chosen him to be a son to Me, and I will be a father to him. I will establish his kingdom forever if he resolutely performs My commandments and My ordinances, as is done now.’ Then David said to his son Solomon, “Be strong and courageous, and act; do not fear nor be dismayed, for the LORD God, my God, is with you. He will not fail you nor forsake you until all the work for the service of the house of the LORD is finished. Now behold, there are the divisions of the priests and the Levites for all the service of the house of God, and every willing man of any skill will be with you in all the work for all kinds of service. The officials also and all the people will be entirely at your command.”” |

Then the rulers of the fathers’ households, and the princes of the tribes of Israel, and the commanders of thousands and of hundreds, with the overseers over the king’s work, offered willingly; So David blessed the LORD in the sight of all the assembly; and David said, “Blessed are You, O LORD God of Israel our father, forever and ever. “But who am I and who are my people that we should be able to offer as generously as this? For all things come from You, and from Your hand we have given You. Then David said to all the assembly, “Now bless the LORD your God.” And all the assembly blessed the LORD, the God of their fathers, and bowed low and did homage to the LORD and to the king. On the next day they made sacrifices to the LORD and offered burnt offerings to the LORD, 1,000 bulls, 1,000 rams and 1,000 lambs, with their drink offerings and sacrifices in abundance for all Israel. So they ate and drank that day before the LORD with great gladness. And they made Solomon the son of David king a second time, and they anointed him as ruler for the LORD and Zadok as priest. Now David the son of Jesse reigned over all Israel. Then he died in a ripe old age, full of days, riches and honor; and his son Solomon reigned in his place.” |
| Psalms 127 is about Prosperity Comes from the Lord | A Song of Ascents, of Solomon
“Unless the LORD builds the house, They labor in vain who build it; Unless the LORD guards the city, The watchman keeps awake in vain. It is vain for you to rise up early, To retire late, To eat the bread of painful labors; For He gives to His beloved even in his sleep.” |

I want to encourage your walk with Christ. Relationships can be difficult and it can be so as a Christian. We have to fight the flesh’s influences and that is tiring. Satan desires that we give up, but we will not give up because it is not something we can turn on or off. You have been changed by God for his glory and his purpose. He will continue hIs work in you. Remember that if you have been born into the family of God. I pray that when it gets difficult find a friend who is a mature believer and spend time with them. Roch, I will be praying for you.
thank you Terry! To be totally honest, some considered as “mature believers” are the ones who’s negatively encouraging some of us to have faith in the Lord. I’ve had traumatic experiences and it’s hard to get over with. But I’ll carry on. I’ve stopped reading for a month but I’m catching up again. Thanks for the prayers. I badly need it 🙂
