On Netflix, the shows that I always look forward to are K-Dramas. I probably watched most of the available Korean shows already but there’s one that caught my eye, Moorim School.
I remember that one of the lead actresses were in Hwarang. After watching Moorim School, I realized that it had the same vibe as Hwarang but without the super annoying female lead. In Moorim School, I liked every single character. So it was a complete shock that Moorim School didn’t do well in the ratings. They even had to cut the series from 20 to 16 episodes 🙁

Students from all over come to study at Moorim School, where the emphasis is not on academics, but on virtues such as honesty, faith, and sacrifice.
Moorim School’s mantra is on good virtues but it didn’t only translate to the students in the K-Drama, it passes those lessons to us who watched Moorim School. I enjoyed every backstory, the bromance, love stories, friendship, love for family, remorse and the focus on doing good. I wish the show was given the chance. There were some characters that I hoped to get more backstory. Oh well, they brilliantly wrapped up the story anyways with 4 less episodes. I still thoroughly enjoyed and appreciated Moorim School! If you haven’t caught this K-Drama in Netflix, make sure to include it in your watchlist.
Here are the lessons I took away from Moorim School:
- Always have faith in people and the goodness they have inside their heart.
- Friendship is hard to find but once you’ve built that true friendship, it can last a lifetime!
- If you focus on other people’s happiness over your own, it’ll translate to other people around you and it will make their miserable. Always focus on your happiness.
- Even when people betray you, they are still part of you as a friend. Somehow, you’re part to blame for their betrayal. The quote in the series definitely resonated “A traitor is still your comrade.”
- Instilling fear on people is not the right way to teach people. It can always put people in danger.
