Bible Study 2018 – Week 22 Learnings

My fear of stopping my bible reading journey has come. I stopped reading for the whole month of June but I’m trying to snap out of it!  So even though I’m so delayed in my Bible readings, I will carry on. I guess I have to add a little bit to my spiritual goal. I should not strive only to finish reading the Bible but I should learn to pray every single day. That includes praying that I won’t lose trust in the Lord despite seeing some “mature” Christians doing extraordinary evil things to good people.

I have taken the Strengths Finder Assessment years ago and since then, I’ve been wanting to explore further and understand how I can leverage my “natural talents” better. It has always been on my mind but I really didn’t act on it until this year when I re-read the book. I also recently discovered that there’s a Strengths Finder community in the Philippines. I’m struggling but I’ll carry on. I hope this is only a phase. I’m wishing that seeking the Lord this year won’t make me walk away from being a Christian for good. In my mind, I would wish that knowing Him and seeking Him will make my faith in Him stronger as ever. I’m praying that I won’t walk away from my faith. Bible Study 2018 – Week 20 Learnings

As the year passes by, I noticed that my eagerness to read the Bible is diminishing. I tend to find it too boring. I know my goal to understand Him by reading the Bible is wrong in a way that I’m seeking to learn and not to worship. But I believe that in order to worship, you need to understand so you get to feel and experience Him. I will continue to work on finishing reading the Bible. The Four Tendencies

I’ve long been curious about the Four Tendencies Framework.  This is one developed by Gretchen Rubin, the author of The Happiness Project. Gretchen Rubin together with her sister has a podcast that I listen to everyday. They talk about the Four Tendencies a lot. I do have a hunch already based on their talks what tendency I have. Bible Study 2018 – Week 19 Learnings

Our Bible Study group’s topic for the past few weeks is about being a new man.  This means that we focus on the Christ and remove everything about our natural life (culture, race, gender, nationality, etc). This is a struggle but I believe that as I install more and more God in my daily living by reading His word and praying, I will get there. We, as Christians, will be able to fulfil God’s goals.
